06Questions

Before you buy

Will NorthernLit 1 charge my car?
NorthernLit 1 is available with the two connector standards used by electric vehicles sold across North America — J1772 and NACS. If your vehicle has either inlet, you can charge at full Level 2 speed. Not sure which one you need? Tell us your make and model and we'll confirm before you order.
Should I choose hardwired or the NEMA 14-50 plug?
Choose hardwired for the full 12 kW and the cleanest installation — it's the right answer for a home you plan to stay in. Choose the NEMA 14-50 plug if you already have a 240 V receptacle in your garage or may move the charger to another property. Plug-in installation delivers up to 9.6 kW.
What does my electrician need to know?
Your installer will confirm available panel capacity and run a dedicated circuit for the charger. Installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician, and a permit or inspection may be required locally. We can share the technical documentation your electrician needs — just request it by email.
How is it mounted, and can it go outdoors?
NorthernLit 1 mounts to any suitable wall with the included bracket, template and hardware. The enclosure is weather-sealed and rated for indoor and outdoor use, so a garage, carport or exterior wall by the driveway all work — your electrician will confirm the best position and cable routing.
What does the warranty cover?
Every NorthernLit 1 is covered by a 3-year warranty. Full terms — what's covered, what isn't, and how to make a claim — are published in our Warranty & Sales Terms, and are included with your unit's documentation.
How do I order, and who installs it?
Reach out with your vehicle and a photo of your electrical panel. We'll confirm the right configuration, quote the unit, and connect you with an installation partner in your area. Charging hardware and installation are quoted separately so you always know what you're paying for.
