01 — What it is

The short version

Where the seasonality bites, and how we size around it.

A module of the Community Power Hub

A Community Power Hub can be built from a single module like this one, or combine several at once — whatever the site needs. This page describes one building block.

Roof and canopy generation covers daytime site load and charges the battery before the grid does. Output is seasonal at Canadian latitudes, so we size the array against your interval data rather than a nameplate number.

An array only earns while the sun is up, so we size it against your measured interval data rather than a nameplate kilowatt. In summer it can cover daytime load and still fill the battery; in winter it offsets the peak that lands while the site runs. A canopy over the bays does double duty — shade for the driver, generation for the buffer — and a rooftop array feeds the same controller.

Where it sits

On the roof or over the bays, generating on your side of the meter.

Pairs with

Storage first — the array charges the battery before the grid does.

What we need

Twelve months of interval data and the roof or canopy footprint available.

03 — Where it fits

Where it earns its place

Three places this usually pays for itself.

Manufacturing

Daytime shift, daytime load. The array covers the peak that lands while the plant runs.

Agriculture

Barn roofs and open ground beside a load that runs when the sun is up.

Charging hubs

Canopy over the bays: shade for the driver, generation for the buffer.

04 — Common questions

What people ask before they specify

The questions that decide whether the module belongs in your site.

Roof or canopy — which should I choose?
A canopy over the bays shades vehicles and generates at the same time; a rooftop uses space you already have. Many sites use both, feeding the same controller.
Will it cover my whole site through winter?
Output is seasonal at Canadian latitudes. We size the array to offset your measured daytime load and charge storage first, not to replace the grid year-round.
What do you need to size it?
Twelve months of interval data and the roof or canopy area available. That tells us the array that pays back, not the one that looks biggest.
